Recyclawble is a startup idea that leverages the issue of paper waste within the Dutch legal education sector and turns it into a sustainable business opportunity. Every year, the College Bundle, a widely used law book among university students and professional firms, becomes outdated when a new edition of updated laws is published. The large, predictable, and consistent volume of these obsolete books ensures a reliable revenue stream that not only minimizes waste but also holds the potential to generate profit to be donated to institutions that support people who cannot afford legal aid. What sets Recyclawble apart from other ideas is our focus on sustainability and scalability. By combining convenient collection points and partnerships with law firms and universities, the business model creates value for students, firms, people, recyclers, and the planet.

With no system for disposal or repurposing, thousands of these books often end up collecting dust on shelves or being discarded, despite their high-quality paper and print. Recyclawble aims to change that. We aim to partner with universities, law firms, and student organizations to establish collection points. Once gathered, the law books would be transported, processed, and then sold off to recycling companies that repurpose the books into new materials. Through this innovative and effective solution, Recyclawble aims to fill the gap between the legal education community and the recycling industry, creating a sustainable system where knowledge and environmental responsibility are interconnected.
